Description: May your soul rest and your dreams come true here…

Nantucket House, Llandudno, offers the penultimate in beach house living. This glorious Cape Cod style home with its humble entrance, uniquely has private access directly to Llandudno Beach via its own staircase. It leads you onto the dirt track part of the nature reserve which runs in front of the house, flowing through the Llandudno Lifesaving Club directly below, which has a boardwalk that enters onto the beach.

The property offers panoramic uninterrupted views from every angle of the beach, Llandudno Rocks, Logies Bay and of the surfers and body boarders in the water below. The sound of the waves breaking on the beach below is prominent, promising and peaceful.

Nantucket House is the closest house to the beach, with incontestably the best views and privacy, not only possible, but also available for purchase, on this highly sought-after, prestigious location in the world.

Flanked by a nature reserve and stream, Nantucket House looks out to nature and the ocean. This home offers comfort, warmth and the most unique family lifestyle possible in Llandudno, Cape Town. The stream gives home to many species of frogs and animal life. The stream has been maintained by the current owner, with many indigenous plants planted on its banks and a small dam to create a beautiful garden to work in on the border of the property.

The unique position means that there is no neighbour to the north of the property, and the property has been designed to look out to the beach, Llandudno Rocks and the nature reserve, so there is very little awareness of neighbours – absolute privacy.

The current style of the home has been inspired by the Martha Vineyard and Nantucket Islands. Whitewashed wooden beams and floor boards throughout, immaculate attention to detail with special nautical fittings and fixtures woven into the final design of the house. Sailing, beach living and nautical passion is highlighted wherever you look.

The house has been structured to offer a dual living option. In one part of the house, if sectioned off from the main house via a staircase, offers three bedrooms and one full bathroom, with open plan lounge, dining area and kitchen. There is a boardwalk style loft area which is great for a work-from-home set up or a play area for children. The living area opens up onto a sheltered deck for outside entertaining. The main house offers three bedrooms, main en-suite, two separate bathrooms (one with a bath, one with a shower), with open plan lounge, dining area and kitchen. The main house opens up onto deck, leading down to a grassed area leading to the sparkling blue pool. Decks and walkways wrap around the house from top to bottom, making access to all areas of the house easy and flexible. Underneath the house there is a pool room, which is perfect for entertaining by the pool side. You can use this space as a gym area, bar or convert it into an additional living area. There is also a storage room by the pool for your watersport items. In addition, there is an au pair pad with it’s own access, as well as access into the main house. Alternatively, it could be used as a bachelor pad or office.

From every possible angle, you are gazing out to the sparkling blue ocean in peaceful serenity. Location does not get better than this.

There is a double garage with car lifts to allow for four cars to be stored in the structure. Above that, there is still additional storage in the rafters. Out front, there are six off-street parking bays – unheard of in Llandudno within minutes walk to the beach!

The history of this house is rich. The house was originally the Llandudno School building. When undergoing renovations in the late 1990’s, the original building was utilized to form the foundation structure for the now multi-level home. The original School building has been clad with reclaimed clapboard, lending the Cape Cod style to the house. Inside the house, the internal doors have also been reclaimed from an old building in Roeland Street, Cape Town. The granite tops in the bathrooms have been stripped of their shine. The warn doors, floors, matt counter tops, wooden kitchen counters and double volume ceilings lend the interior style of this home to be warm, lived-in, full of character, history, charm - bringing you down-to-earth, perfect for it’s proximity to nature. It is not pretentiousness and definitely not ostentatious - this beach house style is how living in Llandudno should be.

The home was originally occupied by the a large family, who had 6 daughters. As each daughter was born, the house would be expanded to make provision for the new arrival. As time progressed, the house became larger and larger. The history of this home continues to be spun as each consecutive owner enjoys the benefits of living on Llandudno beach.
